These Words Illuminated is a short film by writer/director, Susan O’Brien and features the talent, hard work and dedication of an inspiring cast and committed crew of aspiring young filmmakers from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Shot in Savannah, GA, These Words Illuminated captures the essence of the city in which it was filmed. Soft, poetic and romantic, this narrative takes the audience on a journey of one woman as she reclaims her passion for life and begins to understand the beauty in the quiet resonance of the human spirit.

Logline: A former best-selling author rediscovers herself through the words of her electrician’s poetry.

Synopsis: Claire S. Woodley wrote a best-selling memoir 4 years ago. Since then she has gone through a series of trials and tribulations that have left her questioning what exactly she wants to say. When one day the light in Claire’s study goes out, her electrician, Lucas McCoy comes to fix it and reveals to her a secret passion of his: poetry. Promising Lucas to revise some of his poems, Claire finds new vivacity in words as she searches new meaning in the writings of Lucas that soon evolve into the rediscovery of herself.
